The role drives governance, audits, and risk reviews, coordinating cross-functional teams to scale safety decision-making while maintaining traceability from hazards to safety requirements and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates curiosity and technical depth to interpret safety requirements.
• Experience with formal requirements management and traceability tools.
• Strong collaboration skills across Rivian and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Define a functional safety risk management framework at vehicle/system level and maintain an integrated FuSa risk register.
• Consolidate functional safety status across domains into a single view for program reviews.
• Coordinate supplier functional safety audits and track findings.
• Improve processes, templates, and dashboards for functional safety integration across programs and suppliers.
• Establish governance forums to enable collective decision-making for functional safety stakeholders.
• Interface with suppliers to align safety goals, requirements, and interface assumptions.
• Decompose HARA outputs into functional/technical safety requirements with clear ownership.
• Provide end-to-end traceability reporting from hazards to safety requirements and evidence.
