Job summary
Rivian is seeking an Electrical Safety Integration Engineer to lead the development and integration of safety systems for high-visibility vehicle programs. The role coordinates with Vehicle Safety Engineering, Homologation, and cross-functional teams to define crash reactions and electrical safety requirements.
Based in hybrid/onsite Irvine, CA, you’ll partner with Electrical Energy Storage, Electric Power Conversion, Electrical Hardware, Packaging, and Software teams to create subsystem
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in automotive safety, vehicle testing, or system integration.
- Willingness to travel to vehicle/component launch locations.
- Strong knowledge of FMVSS, ECE, NCAP and safety evaluation processes.
- Proven project management across milestones, risks, and cross-team coordination.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills for safety initiatives.
- Ability to translate safety requirements into actionable plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of electrical safety strategies for vehicle safety.
- Define and execute testing for HV and LV electrical systems, focusing on crash safety.
- Analyze electrical system designs to meet crash safety requirements and perform FMVSS-based checks.
- Collaborate with Structural Safety, Packaging, and Software teams on safety strategies.
- Own crash testing and validation from simulation to physical testing for electrical systems.
