Databricks is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead end-to-end AI-powered internal applications that empower our workforce. You will define the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and own critical systems in a cloud-native environment.

You will partner with product management, design, and other tech teams to deliver high-impact solutions, raise the engineering quality bar, and drive operational excellence across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leadership and impact.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership, owning software systems end to end.
• Experience designing and building end-to-end, cloud-native applications.
• Customer obsession and product engineering mindset.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• History of raising engineering quality and reinforcing operational rigor.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to align technical strategy with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy and roadmap for in-house solutions powering internal workflows.
• Partner with product management, design, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end AI-powered solutions.
• Eliminate technical risk by solving the most challenging technical issues facing the team.
• Drive engineering excellence through design quality, reviews, testing strategies, and incident management.
