Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Streams UI team, shaping Fleet and Streams with intuitive UI built in TypeScript, React, and Node.js. You will contribute your expertise, learn from others, and make a meaningful impact on our product.

You will own end-to-end problems, drive architecture discussions, uphold coding standards, review code for quality and security, and collaborate asynchronously across time zones on GitHub and Slack.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript; React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
• Track record of leading non-trivial projects end-to-end with ownership.
• Proficient architecture and system-design judgment in large codebases.
• Designed and launched UI components that increased user engagement.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve codebases.
• Strong written and verbal communication; excited about async collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive user interface components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end; shape approach and deliver.
• Lead discussions on architecture and system design with attention to performance and scale.
• Establish coding standards; promote reusable components and automate tests/deploys.
• Conduct thorough code reviews; identify security vulnerabilities and improve readability.
• Collaborate asynchronously across time zones with a distributed team on GitHub and Slack.
• Partner with designers and product managers to translate mockups into UI and ensure consistent visuals.
