Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our APM UI team, shaping Kibana UI and observability tooling. You will work across design, product, and engineering to deliver intuitive interfaces for developers and operators.

You’ll own tasks end-to-end, collaborate across time zones, and help evolve our front-end stack with TypeScript, React, and Node.js while ensuring performance and accessibility at scale.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with full-stack JavaScript and UI with React.
• Proven track record leading end-to-end projects with design ownership.
• Strong architecture and system-design judgment for large codebases.
• Experience designing and launching UI components that boost engagement.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong async collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive UI components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js; collaborate with back-end services.
• Own complex problems end-to-end; shape approach and deliver.
• Lead architecture and system design discussions; consider performance and scale.
• Establish coding standards and promote reusable components; enable automated testing/deployment.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and address security concerns; maintain readability.
• Collaborate across time zones with a distributed team; work openly on GitHub and Slack.
• Partner with designers/product managers to translate mockups into UI components; ensure consistent visuals.
