Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer specialized in Edifecs for the Veterans Affairs project. This 100% remote role requires extensive experience in test planning, automated/manual testing, and EDIFECS/X12 workflows.

You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality deliverables while aligning with security and government standards.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Experience with manual and automated testing across SDLC.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases and scripts; familiar with data for test scenarios.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and version control (Git, SVN).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) and security testing practices.
• Experience with EDIFECS and X12 EDI workflows (837, 834, 835, 270/271, 999).
• Comfort working with COTS products and test management tools; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure quality.
• Create test schedules and approaches.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify data for tests.
• Lead walkthroughs with stakeholders and testers.
• Perform and supervise tests to verify defects are resolved.
• Document test results and provide analyses to management.
• Develop daily test metrics and reports; support issue resolution.
• Contribute to process improvements and future configurations.
• Engage in other IT system engineering tasks as needed.
