Job summary

STR is seeking a Lead Mission Engineer - Full Stack in San Diego to lead software teams, develop mission-focused applications for high-security environments, and work closely with government operators. You will deploy, test, and refine full-stack systems using modern frameworks (React, TypeScript, Python) while managing customer relationships and ensuring top-tier quality and performance.

Required are an Active Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, a BS in CS or related field with 7+ years of

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or related technical field with at least 7 years of work experience (equivalent experience considered).
Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret level with SCI Eligibility.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and manage customer relationships while ensuring high standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Strong knowledge of modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Python.

Responsibilities

Build prototype capabilities: break down use cases, build an MVP, and evolve a solution into a cohesive application.
Develop and enhance features: create high-performance frontend solutions that are fast, smooth, and intuitiveeven under heavy load.
System integration: lead cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy a cohesive system and integrate capabilities.
Customer collaboration: work with end-users and customers (often government operators) to translate requirements into software features.
Deployment and field testing: travel to integration sites to deploy, test, and triage software in secure operational environments; travel not to exceed one week per month.
