Job summary

Charles Schwab in Southlake, TX seeks a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and operate scalable Java applications, APIs, microservices, and streaming pipelines. You’ll own the full lifecycle from design to production, collaborating across teams to improve throughput, latency, and reliability.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, UI experience (Angular/React), and cloud engineering, plus strong data and integration pattern skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience creating UI components with Angular; React also considered.
• 3+ years of public-cloud engineering to deploy production apps.
• Designing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with batch processing or data ingestion using Spring Batch or equivalents.
• Experience with event-driven or streaming tech like Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong SQL and relational DB skills; capable of tuning queries.
• Ability to apply automated testing, observability, resiliency, and production-readiness practices.
• Experience Linux, shell scripting, source control, and CI/CD tools.
