Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation in Southlake, TX is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and operate scalable Java/Spring Boot applications and data pipelines on cloud-native platforms.

You will own solutions from design to production, collaborating across engineering, platform, QA, and business teams to improve system throughput, latency, and reliability while applying best practices in testing, observability, and production readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience UI components with Angular; React is a plus.
• 3+ years cloud engineering deploying production apps.
• Designing REST APIs, microservices, distributed apps.
• Batch-processing or data-ingestion with Spring Batch or equivalent.
• Streaming solutions with Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, RabbitMQ.
• Cloud native services (compute, storage, network).
• Strong SQL and relational DB; performance tuning.
• Automated testing, observability, resiliency, production-readiness.
• Linux, shell scripting, source control, CI/CD tools.
• Problem solving and ownership diagnosing complex issues.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related experience.
