Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support the Development Portal Team, powering the bank's API ecosystem. You will design, develop, and support Java-based backend services and Angular front-ends, contributing to API-driven solutions for internal and external apps.

You will collaborate across engineering, product, and business stakeholders, participate in AI-assisted development initiatives, and help ensure scalable, secure platforms that handle high volumes of API requests.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree with systems analysis or app development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience developing Java-based applications/services.
• Experience with Angular or similar modern front-end frameworks.
• Full Stack experience across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
• Experience with APIs, RESTful services, and API-driven architectures.
• Experience using source control and SDLC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support applications within the SDLC to meet business needs.
• Build Java backend services and Angular front-end applications for the API ecosystem.
• Create and support API-driven integrations for internal/external banking apps.
• Review pull requests, ensure code quality, and follow change management processes.
• Write clean, secure, and efficient code with proper data structures/algorithms.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to document implementation details.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technology decisions for API platforms.
