Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer for a hybrid New York, NY role. You will develop backend services and web applications, collaborate with frontend teams, and ensure clean, tested code.

You should have strong Java fundamentals, Spring, REST APIs, React, SQL (PostgreSQL), and experience with Git and Maven/Gradle. The role emphasizes design collaboration, Agile teamwork, and delivery within sprints.

In this role, you will:

• Contributes to design, development, and implementation of backend services and web applications.
• Writes clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering practices.
• Participates in technical design discussions and collaborates with senior engineers and architects.
• Works closely with frontend developers to integrate backend services with UI components.
• Supports troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of applications.
• Breaks down user stories into technical tasks and delivers within agreed timelines.
• Collaborates effectively in Agile teams with product owners, QA, and other developers.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $46K – 93,500K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
