Job summary

Capital One is seeking Full-stack Software Engineering leaders to drive technical strategy and mentor high-performing teams. You will lead cross-functional engineering programs, shaping multi-year roadmaps and prioritizing investments across cloud-native, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.

You will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate with product managers to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• At least 3 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor engineering talent and drive major technology transformations across Capital One.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for millions of customers.
• Lead teams using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript; manage containers with Docker and Kubernetes; leverage AWS tools.
• Define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities with architecture and platform leaders.
• Develop Lead Engineers and scaling leadership across teams; align engineering with enterprise goals.
• Oversee end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale cloud-native systems with high reliability.
