Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
Strong Python backend development and Django experience.
Experience designing REST APIs and scalable services with PostgreSQL and AWS.
Frontend knowledge with React and TypeScript appreciated.
Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native environments.
Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services and APIs.
Own major engineering initiatives from requirements gathering and architectural planning through launch and maintenance.
Develop integrations between internal platform services and external APIs.
Contribute to backend architecture, service patterns, database structures, and system design.
Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences.
Investigate and resolve performance, scalability, availability, and reliability challenges.
Improve engineering practices around testing, observability, and production operations.
Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and incident management.
Act as a technical lead for backend projects, ensuring maintainability and quality.
