Job summary

Outschool is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to design and improve digital learning experiences used by learners, families, educators, and partners. You will own end-to-end features spanning React front-ends, Node.js back-ends, GraphQL, and data models in PostgreSQL, with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will collaborate across product, design, analytics, and engineering, apply AI-assisted development practices, and drive iterative experiments from definition to launch.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience building and operating full-stack web products.
• Strong practical experience with TypeScript and React, plus Node.js services, APIs, and data models.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, PostgreSQL, scalable backend architecture, testing, and production operations.
• Ability to own ambiguous, cross-functional projects from design through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end product features using TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing user value, speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, design, research, analytics, and engineering to shape solutions.
• Improve testing, performance, observability, and engineering practices as the product evolves.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to planning, implementation, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
