Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and delivery of customer-facing product experiences and the backend systems that support them. You will work across the app boundary from intuitive interfaces to reliable services, APIs, and data flows, shaping how customers configure and control software delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and operating production web applications with customer/business impact.
• Ability to lead complex projects across frontend and backend with cross-team dependencies.
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React) and typed languages (TypeScript).
• Backend experience designing/operating APIs, services, data stores, or asynchronous systems.
• Experience with Go, Python, Rust, or equivalent (Go used by most teams).
• Sound judgement across architecture, UX, performance, security, maintainability tradeoffs.
• Strong product instincts and ability to connect technical decisions to outcomes.
• Excellent communication and inclusive decision-making across teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of large or ambiguous initiatives across frontend and backend.
• Build product experiences using TypeScript/React and APIs in Go, Python, or similar.
• Translate customer problems into thoughtful technical designs and incremental plans.
• Own work from discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and leaders to balance usability, performance, reliability, security, and value.
• Establish patterns that improve maintainability and developer experience.
• Improve observability and runbooks; participate in incident response.
• Influence architecture and direction through design docs, reviews, and clear communication.
• Mentor engineers and help teammates grow technical judgment and delivery capability.
• Represent customer needs in cross-functional decisions and tie work to outcomes.
