Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead development across clinical, operational, and strategic priorities. You will guide end-to-end software delivery, collaborate with clients and PMs to define requirements, and ensure robust integrations with back-end services and databases.

Responsibilities include building scalable API services, front-end features, and mobile-friendly applications while maintaining code quality and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computing or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years hands-on software development experience.
• Strong front-end development experience and mobile/responsive UI.
• Experience with healthcare data/HL7/FHIR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads software engineering efforts to devise and develop software solutions addressing health system priorities.
• Participates in full lifecycle: estimation, design, development, testing, deployment.
• Collaborates with teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
• Develops and maintains core API services and integrations with front-end clients and third-party systems.
• Ensures secure, reliable, scalable backend services and data integrations.
• Mentors staff and escalates delivery impediments and risks as needed.
