Job summary

The Senior Software Development Engineer at University System of Maryland develops, integrates, and supports enterprise applications, web platforms, and data solutions while guiding the software team. You will lead architecture, APIs, and complex integrations across USM systems and cloud services, with emphasis on security and data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting enterprise software applications.
• Experience developing and supporting web-based applications using modern tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Experience with relational databases, database design, and SQL.
• Experience developing and integrating APIs, web services, and enterprise systems.
• Experience applying software quality assurance, testing, and secure development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Designs, develops, integrates, and supports enterprise applications, web platforms, and data solutions.
• Provides senior-level technical guidance to the software development team.
• Leads complex integrations among USM-wide systems and cloud services.
• Develops AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation to improve processes and decision making.

• Communicates technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
