Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a Senior Software Developer with strong Python and React experience to design, develop and maintain web and API services for NIH/NIAID platforms. Remote or on-site at NIH in Rockville, MD with periodic Tysons Corner orientation and Rockville meetings.

You will build data processing pipelines, reusable React components, and scalable services while mentoring teammates and ensuring secure, high‑quality software.

Qualifications

• Six years of full stack web app development and maintenance (Python & React).
• Three+ years of database experience.
• Experience building containerized apps with Docker.
• Experience using GitHub actions.
• Two+ years of Git and multi-environment deployments.
• Experience deploying and operating software on AWS.
• Mentoring other developers and reviewing peer work.
• Developing RESTful services and JSON/XML data exchanges.
• Strong communication with end users of software.
• Ability to learn and extend existing codebases.
• Willingness for in-person onboarding and onsite meetings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Federal/DoD Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Participate in an integrated agile team, documenting and testing code.
• Develop new applications and extend existing ones with new features.
• Scale data pipelines to meet growing datasets.
• Collaborate across teams to support enterprise infrastructure.
• Prototype solutions for potential integration into existing systems.
• Review security vulnerabilities with security and infrastructure teams.
