Job summary

U.S. News & World Report seeks a Senior Software Developer (Python, React, AI) to build data-driven products with an AI-first mindset. You’ll work with cross-functional teams, embrace AI tools to boost efficiency, and contribute to architectural decisions.

You will collaborate with designers, analysts, and stakeholders, while maintaining high-quality, well-documented code in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of related or similar full stack experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, agents, automations.
• Modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React.
• Web styling with CSS preprocessors or CSS-in-JS.
• Modern JavaScript patterns and ES6.
• Server-side technologies, such as Python, Java, or NodeJS.
• Databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Unix-based operating systems, such as Linux or Mac OS X, with shells/CLI.
• Version control, such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Mentor developers and contribute as a senior team member.
• Apply AI-first approach to investigation and development.
• Develop and maintain clean, efficient, well-documented code.
• Make architecture decisions and review code for quality.
• Serve as a technical role model for the team.
