Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support the NIH/NHLBI software portfolio. You will deliver innovative solutions, reduce technical debt, and lead design and development across the software lifecycle.

The role requires strong Java/JavaScript/SQL experience, React/Material UI, and experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions). Collaboration with a cross-functional team is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering/Engineering Technology or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience using Java, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with Material UI/React.
• Experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions (CI/CD).
• Experience working with and improving existing code bases.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• Experience leveraging Azure cloud services and with Azure DB as a service (Cosmos, SQL Server).

Responsibilities

• Working across the software life cycle, with emphasis on design and development for systems including large biological/genomic data.
• Contributing to all parts of the application and testing stack.
• Collaborating to realize system requirements and provide custom implementations for a better user experience.
• Facilitating and explaining high-leverage decisions about architecture and software development.
• Supporting a development team’s activities for clean, maintainable, testable code.
• Contributing to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing).
• Collaborating on Agile activities, including estimation, planning, and retrospectives.
• Managing code and artifacts using GitHub.
