Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Providence, RI to join our K-12 School Technology group. You will analyze, design, implement, and unit test high-quality software for cutting-edge assessment platforms, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup-like environment.

You will work on cloud-based AWS applications, contribute to code reviews, and help drive quality improvements while expanding knowledge across languages and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline.
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent web-based applications.
• Experience with Git or similar VCS tools.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline.
• Experience working with a range of AI tools and LLMs.
• Desire to expand knowledge in many development languages, applications, and tools.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze & Design - ensure business and requirements artifacts model the customer's needs.
• Implement & Perform - implement designs following Pearson coding standards.
• Review - participate in requirements, design and code reviews.
• Test & Deployment - work with QA and other teams to release high-quality software.
• Quality/process improvement - participate in initiatives to improve quality and processes.
