Job summary

Pearson, a leading learning company, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, implement, and test cutting-edge assessment platforms. You will work in a collaborative, agile team on mission-critical applications, delivering high-quality code and supporting deployment and operations.

Candidates should have strong cloud experience (AWS), experience with AI tools and LLMs, and a track record in web-based, highly available systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cloud AWS hosted applications.
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent web-based applications.
• Experience with GIT or similar VCS tools.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience working with a range of AI tools and LLMs.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline.
• Desire to expand knowledge in many development languages, applications, and tools.
• Quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications.
• Able to think technically and analytically.
• Ability to understand the philosophy of architecture.
• Must assimilate information, distil knowledge, apply experience and provide solution alternatives and recommendations.
• Must have strong time management skills - including the ability to work well under pressure, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines.
• Must be a self-starter and detail-oriented.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze & Design - ensure artifacts model the customer's requirements and create design models.
• Implement & Perform - follow Pearson coding standards and industry best practices.
• Review - participate in requirements, design and code reviews.
• Test & Deployment - collaborate with QA and others to release high quality software and write tests.
• Quality/process improvement - participate in initiatives to improve process and product quality.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline
