Job summary

Pearson’s K-12 School Technology group seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, implement, and test cutting-edge assessment platforms. You will collaborate in an agile, fast-paced team building scalable, high-performance web applications.

You will work on AWS-hosted services, apply best practices, and contribute to mission-critical platforms used by test takers and educators. The role emphasizes strong problem-solving, cross-functional teamwork, and continuous delivery, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline is required
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline is a plus
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent web-based applications is required
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices is required
• Experience with GIT or similar VCS tools is required
• Experience working in an agile environment is required
• Experience with Cloud AWS hosted applications is required
• Experience working with a range of AI tools and LLMs is a plus
• Desire to expand knowledge in many development languages, applications, and tools

Responsibilities

• Analyze & Design - Ensure business and requirements artifacts are created that effectively model the customer's requirements.
• Implement & Perform - Implement designs following Pearson coding standards and industry best practices.
• Review - Participate in requirements, design and code reviews.
• Test & Deployment - Work closely with other teams to release high quality software and write unit tests.
• Quality/process improvement - Participate in group improvement activities to improve process and product quality
