Job summary

Defense Unicorns seeks a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems Delivery Team, building data-driven UIs for distributed edge environments. You will collaborate across frontend, backend, and UX to deliver operational interfaces for unmanned systems, emphasizing real-time state, robust APIs, and secure deployments.

You will work on Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, and cloud-native tools, contributing to secure software practices while supporting mission-focused software

Qualifications

• 5+ years in frontend or full-stack software development.
• Strong proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (Svelte or React preferred).
• Strong familiarity with frontend tooling and build systems.
• Experience with testing strategies across frontend applications.
• Experience building data-intensive or state-heavy apps.
• Strong understanding of API design and integration (REST, GraphQL).
• Experience with backend systems and distributed architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interfaces for managing assets and fleets of autonomous systems.
• Design data-rich UIs reflecting real-time distributed state.
• Develop workflows for deploying, updating, monitoring in edge and remote environments.
• Handle complex state management and asynchronous data flows.
• Integrate frontend apps with backend APIs, platform services, and communications tech.
• Improve usability for technically complex workflows.
• Collaborate with UX to translate system behavior into intuitive interfaces.
• Serve as link between apps and platform environments.
