Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to serve as the hands-on technical anchor for our engineering team, owning architecture and critical-path development directly while setting technical direction and mentoring engineers across the team. This is a deeply hands-on role: most of the time is spent designing, building, and reviewing code, not delegating it.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale software development using Java, Spring Boot, React, REST APIs, JPA, and related technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing highly scalable microservices, web services, and REST APIs.
• 5+ years in Agile development environments.
• 3+ years producing Python applications and APIs (FastAPI/Flask) with AI/ML integration.
• 3+ years with distributed messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS).
• 2+ years in a technical lead role and 2+ years designing event-driven architectures.
• 2+ years building Python-based data pipelines and AI workflows.
• 2+ years deploying services on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• 2+ years with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo).
• 2+ years with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives with mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and critical-path development, guiding technical direction.
• Mentor engineers and drive complex technical initiatives.
• Translate business goals into a technical roadmap and execution plan.
• Design, build, and review code across the stack with emphasis on quality and security.
