Job summary

Parabola is seeking an experienced full-stack engineer to develop new features and reinforce its flow-based calculation engine. You will write performant TypeScript and Python, implement end-to-end product functionality, and collaborate with product managers on new ideas.

You will help optimize services for scalability and observability, generate technical plans, and build tests, while contributing to engineering processes for future growth in a high-uptime environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack experience in a team-based, high-uptime, continuously-delivered codebase.
• Experience with relational databases, REST APIs, and OOP principles.
• Professional experience with AI/LLMs, either building an AI-powered tool or using AI tools to augment work.
• Willingness to work from the San Francisco or New York City office approximately 3 days per week.
• Experience working in dynamic high-growth organizations.
• Professional experience with Python, TypeScript, React, Redux, or Node.js.
• Strong engineering practices focused on stable, secure, and maintainable work.
• Ability to communicate enthusiastically and work both collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and reinforce Parabola’s technical foundation
• Build on Parabola’s flow-based calculation engine
• Implement new product functionality from start to finish in consultation with product managers
• Generate technical plans, report on progress, and build tests and end-customer validation
• Consult with customer-facing teams and customers to solve unique problems and identify product growth opportunities
• Use AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to improve process efficiency
• Write performant TypeScript and Python code across the stack
• Implement logic behind Parabola flow steps and genericize shared logic
• Optimize services for scalability, stability, and observability
• Help define engineering processes and practices for future growth
