Job summary

Navajo Power Home is seeking a full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end reporting, delivering a complete financial picture with accuracy and integrity.

The position prefers candidates living near Flagstaff, AZ, with remote or hybrid work available within Arizona, New Mexico, or the Navajo Nation, and requires QuickBooks proficiency, GAAP knowledge, and 3–5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping with 3–5+ years.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or Peachtree and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, AP/AR, payroll and tax rules.
• High accuracy, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Education options range from diploma to bachelor's in accounting/finance.

Responsibilities

• Ledger management: maintain general and subsidiary ledgers (AP/AR).
• Transaction processing: classify and post financial transactions accurately.
• Bank/account reconciliations: monthly reconciliation of all accounts.
• Payroll: process payroll, timesheets, and related filings.
• Financial reporting: prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements.
• Month/year-end close: manage the entire closing process.
• Auditing support: assist with internal and external audits.
• Data analysis: review reports for discrepancies and cost savings.
