Job summary

Amazon in the United States (New Castle, DE) seeks a Senior Operations Manager to lead site operations, budget, and people development. You will coach a team of Operations and Area Managers, drive safety, quality, and customer experience, and align with Lean initiatives.

This role requires 7+ years of management in manufacturing or distribution, a bachelor’s degree, and a track record in staffing, performance metrics, and process improvement. Travel to multiple FCs nationwide may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Flexible hours including overnight, weekends and holidays.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.

Responsibilities

• Drives quality initiatives, process changes and Lean initiatives to meet/exceed business plan.
• Oversees safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of inbound or outbound operations.
• Sets/clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages managers to generate improvement plans and share best practices across departments.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects.
