Job summary

Meltwater is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead and evolve our frontend platform. You will blend hands-on development with team leadership, driving UI craftsmanship, accessibility, and performance at scale.

You will shape frontend architecture, collaborate with design, backend, and AI/ML teams, and own long-term technical strategy across multiple squads. This role demands strong leadership and a track record of delivering large-scale frontend systems.

Qualifications

• Expertise in React and TypeScript, including scale architecture.
• Proven experience leading frontend teams or as a technical lead.
• Track record owning large-scale, production frontend systems.
• Experience driving cross-team initiatives like design systems or performance improvements.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance tradeoffs, and scalability.
• Experience integrating systems via GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Exceptional debugging across browser, performance, and production.
• Ownership of codebase health, reliability and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend engineers and own delivery, quality, and direction.
• Own complex frontend systems end-to-end from design to production health.
• Drive org-wide initiatives across design systems and performance.
• Define frontend architecture to support scalability and rapid iteration.
• Enforce high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve systemic performance and reliability issues in production.
• Build data-heavy, AI-enabled UIs and workflows in collaboration with teams.
• Shape product direction with design, backend, and AI/ML partners.
• Guide long-term UI strategy and key architectural decisions across teams.
