Scribd, Inc. is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to drive the Web Modernization program and build frontend foundations for our next generation of web product experiences.

You’ll lead modernization workstreams, migrate legacy apps, and ship production frontend code with a focus on performance and developer experience. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate across product, platform, and design teams to create durable patterns, with future work on building features for publishers and readers on

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead major modernization workstreams—migrating complex legacy web applications into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem.
• Create repeatable migration patterns and shared foundations for other teams.
• Ship production-critical frontend code and define patterns and boundaries.
• Partner cross-functionally to make architectural change practical and durable.
• After modernization, build product features to support publishers and readers on Scribd.
