Reddit is hiring a Sr Frontend Engineer, Media, to help build the next version of the web media experience. This remote role focuses on the media player UI (React/TypeScript) and the backend APIs (Go, Python) that power it, delivering low-latency playback across global users.

You will work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams, owning the full development cycle from design to launch and mentoring teammates in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in modern languages.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and API design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to implement features for the media web experience.
• Own the full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, and launch.
• Design and implement end-to-end web UI components for the media player and backend APIs.
• Review code and designs, mentor junior engineers, and improve performance across services.
