Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape the backend for media creation tools. You will design scalable APIs, own media ingestion and processing pipelines, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver rich video and image experiences.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development in Go, Python, Ruby, Java, or C++.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, Thrift basics and API design.
• Experience with distributed caching layers and Redis.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design and engineering to build features that users will love.
• Own backend infrastructure for media creation and API development.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: design, code, test, launch.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve developer workflows.
• Balance speed with quality while shipping new products.
