Reddit is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own backend media creation infrastructure and APIs. You will define architectures for capturing, editing, and publishing media, while collaborating with product, design and other engineers to deliver fast, reliable experiences.

You will contribute to end-to-end development, mentor teammates, and balance speed with quality in a fully remote environment, joining a team that ships scalable, global media features.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years in professional software development using Go, Python, Ruby, Java or C++.
• Experience designing maintainable APIs with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, Thrift.
• Experience with Redis or similar distributed caches.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own backend media creation infrastructure and APIs.
• Collaborate with product, design and other engineers on features.
• Contribute to technical design, testing, and launch.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve developer workflows.
