Job summary

Sardine is seeking a senior frontend-focused software engineer to own the design and delivery of user-facing interfaces in React and TypeScript. You will mentor peers, raise the frontend bar, and apply AI tools to accelerate delivery.

You’ll also touch Go on the backend when needed, collaborate with stakeholders, and help shape engineering culture in a remote-first environment with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and security.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven experience as a software engineer with frontend focus.
• Expert-level React and TypeScript, with strong UX, performance, and accessibility.
• Fluent with AI tools (e.g., Claude) and a track record of shipping efficiently.
• Leadership experience: setting standards, mentoring engineers, driving decisions.
• Track record of shipping production-grade frontend at scale.
• Go backend experience is a plus and acknowledged as secondary.
• Ability to prioritize autonomously amid ambiguity and business needs.
• Customer-centric approach and empathy toward users.
• Fintech, fraud, compliance, risk, or regulated systems experience preferred.
• Proficient in English; data tooling exposure a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own user-facing features in React and TypeScript.
• Set frontend direction and quality, mentor teammates, and review code.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development and share best practices.
• Dip into Go to extend backend services behind frontend features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to architect new experiences from inception to delivery.
• Contribute to product roadmaps and engineering culture.
