Job summary

Sound Decisions is hiring a Software Engineer to own front-end features in a 100% remote, FinTech SaaS environment. This fast-growing team values autonomy, mentorship, and AI-assisted development, with opportunities to shape front-end practice as the first dedicated front-end hire.

You’ll work primarily in the UI layer using JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Vite). Occasional backend exposure and collaboration with a small, high-trust team are expected as you scale the product.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with React.
• Deep experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and React; Vite a plus.
• Autonomy to take direction and run with tasks.
• Genuine use of AI coding tools in daily workflow with self-checking.
• Frontend-focused role with occasional backend exposure (Java, Scala, or C#).

Responsibilities

• Own front-end features end to end—from UI implementation through shipping.
• Work on UI services that consume shared backend services and present data.
• Collaborate with a backend-leaning team to integrate front-end with core product services.
• Use AI development tools as a normal part of your workflow while validating your work.
