Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator in Olive Branch, MS to safely load, unload, stage, and track freight in a fast-paced dock setting.

Responsibilities include operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, labeling and scanning cargo, and assisting drivers with loading activities. Candidates should have 3+ years of dock experience and a valid forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and wear PPE.
• Learn equipment operation and safety protocols while developing.
• Support dock productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Safely handle oversized or high‑value freight.
