Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer for a remote contract role. You will create, modify, and validate parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to meet project requirements and support manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in mechanical design, strong GD&T/DFM knowledge, and can produce detailed drawings and documentation. Remote collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field focusing on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience conducting QA reviews and verifying model integrity against specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote, project-based work.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to project requirements.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies with best practices in assembly design and component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear, precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify and resolve issues.
• Utilize Python scripting for CAD automation tasks (highly preferred, not mandatory).
• Collaborate by providing feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.
