Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a Fraud Risk Manager within the Control and Oversight Group, Personal Wealth, to develop and execute a forward‑looking fraud roadmap protecting clients and operations. You will design and oversee the fraud monitoring program, reducing false positives while aligning with enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in fraud risk management, privacy risk, operational risk, compliance, or financial services risk oversight.
• Strong understanding of fraud monitoring, control design, risk assessments, and incident response.
• Ability to balance risk mitigation with client experience and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with enterprise partners and influencing decision‑making.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fraud typologies, privacy considerations, and risk management practices within financial services is preferred.
• Professional certifications in fraud (CFE) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the fraud risk roadmap in alignment with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and enterprise objectives.
• Design, develop, and oversee the fraud monitoring program, including evaluation of controls and strategies to improve risk reduction, client experience, and false positive reduction.
• Partner with Enterprise Fraud, Product, Privacy, Operations, and other business stakeholders to implement effective fraud and privacy risk mitigation solutions with an emphasis on client experience.
• Serve as the fraud subject matter expert for the Personal Wealth business, advising on significant fraud events, escalations, and emerging risk matters.
• Conduct fraud risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and communicate control gaps, vulnerabilities, and areas for process improvement.
• Support the development of policies, procedures, and governance practices related to fraud and privacy risk management.
• Prepare clear risk insights, assessment findings, and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects related to fraud prevention.
