Gemini is seeking a Senior Fraud Data Scientist to lead detection strategies and strengthen risk controls across our platform. You will design rules, analyze large datasets, and collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance to defend users while preserving a seamless experience.

You should have 5+ years in fraud or risk management, deep SQL/Python skills, and hands-on experience with fraud platforms. Strong communication and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fraud strategy, program management, or related risk management roles.
• Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, Looker, and other data analysis and visualization tools.
• Hands‑on experience with fraud detection and monitoring platforms, with the ability to analyze data and identify emerging fraud patterns.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, operations, compliance) to achieve shared goals.
• Comfortable making sound decisions in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments; skilled at using data to drive informed choices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects spanning multiple teams, balancing priorities and driving results.
• Strong critical‑thinking skills with the ability to stay composed under pressure and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead end-to-end fraud prevention and detection strategies, including procedures, rules, and controls.
• Conduct sophisticated data analysis on large datasets to identify emerging fraud trends, patterns, and risks.
• Monitor fraud prevention system performance, measure risk metrics, and implement data-driven enhancements to reduce false positives.
• Partner with data science, risk operations, product, engineering, and customer support to integrate fraud prevention into products and services.
• Oversee initiatives aimed at advancing fraud detection systems and optimizing operational processes.
• Develop and deliver clear, actionable reports for leadership and stakeholders, highlighting risk exposure and control effectiveness.
