About the Team:

The Public Safety Special Investigative Unit (SIU) is comprised of former law enforcement experts who leverage LexisNexis solutions and data offerings to provide real-time investigative insight for LexisNexis customers. The Public Safety SIU also works with the sales team and customers by analyzing data and research methodologies, building best practices, and supporting functions required to maintain the quality and timely delivery of information.

About the Role:

The Senior Fraud Data Analyst position exists to provide investigative support to a federal customer in the role of Sr. Investigative Analyst. This analyst will bridge the gap between customer requirements and production outcomes as a subject matter expert on LexisNexis solutions within the SIU. This position will be capable and experienced in both tactical and strategic investigations. The ability to conduct research analysis while fully integrating with the customer will be key. Investigations will include local, state and/or federal criminal violations, including, but not limited to, financial crimes. Experience with analyzing large crime datasets and providing real-time investigative assistance is preferred.

***This role requires 4+ years of Law Enforcement experience***

Responsibilities:

  1. Correlate collected information by manipulating and evaluating available data and other sources to support investigations.
  2. Collect, develop, analyze, and disseminate information in support of investigations into violations of tax, currency, and other laws and regulations.
  3. Correlate trends and case studies with internal data and other law enforcement agencies, including terrorist watch, Specially Designated Nationals (SDN), and similar blocked person lists.
  4. Attend meetings/briefings to discuss emerging trends, case studies, analytical techniques, and other information in criminal investigations.
  5. Support the customer mission by providing analytical and investigative insights that assist in investigations, conduct criminal research, and analyze statewide data.
  6. Research and provide alternative approaches to customers.
  7. Provide remote analytic support in a multi-disciplinary team environment to deliver analytic products and provide appropriate briefing and visualizations for the customer that capture key aspects of analytic findings and generate actionable leads and insights.
  8. Conduct analysis of data provided by customers to identify crime and provide insights into crime solutions and customer workflow analysis.
  9. Operate professionally, efficiently, and effectively, often without direct supervision, while conducting high-quality analysis, data development, briefs, and reach-back support seamlessly across diverse analytic and law enforcement officials in support of a shared mission.
  10. Apply critical thinking to drive data analysis in an independent and discovery environment while working within the team setting to learn from and provide others with personal expertise.
  11. Work directly with customers to support crime solution product understanding, implementation, and best practices.
  12. Learn and apply industry-standard analytic software tools at an expert level, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite of tools, ESRI ArcGIS, i2 Analyst Notebook, and proprietary LexisNexis suite of solutions.
  13. Exchange information and intelligence with other governmental agencies.
  14. Maintain positive customer relationships through detailed analysis of potentially large data sets over the lifecycle of the contract.
  15. Represent LexisNexis Risk Solutions at customer-facing events and with customers.
  16. Actively participate in product testing for LexisNexis tools, including the current suite of products, new products being brought to market, training content, and other materials.
  17. Other duties as assigned, including analysis of call detail record data provided by the customer, fraud investigations, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., data science, computer science, criminal justice, etc.).
  2. 4+ years' experience in Law Enforcement.
  3. Ability to obtain the required customer security clearances.
  4. Strong OSINT research and documentation skills.
  5. Experience with geolocation device analysis and courtroom testimony.
  6. Self-motivated and dynamic.
  7. Demonstrated competence in the application of logic to problems.
  8. Demonstrated competence in research and problem resolution.
  9. Strong organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills.
  10. Strong attention to detail.
  11. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  12. Experience in managing large customer-facing solutions.
  13. Proficient in Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint.
  14. Experience in i2 Analyst Notebook, PowerBi, ESRI, Python, SQL.
  15. Ability to work in a team and independently.
  16. Preferred experience in LexisNexis suite of solutions.
  17. Ability to travel - 25%.

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for New York: $85,000 - $141,600 USD.

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Washington DC: $88,900 - $148,000 USD.
