Viasat seeks a Senior FPGA Engineer for the Space Infrastructure team in Tempe, AZ. You will design, implement, and validate high-speed signal-processing algorithms and waveform processing in FPGAs, from requirements through hardware testing.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines and drive FPGA design standards, documentation, and production readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years FPGA design experience, including Xilinx Vivado.
• Strong knowledge of SystemVerilog and/or VHDL.
• Foundational knowledge of digital logic and timing considerations.
• Experience with RTL design for various signal processing blocks.
• Experience with FPGA EDA tools including Xilinx/Intel/Siemens tools.
• Proven track record to design and implement FPGA modules with simulation/testbenches.
• Experience designing for re-use, maintainability, and scalability.
• Familiar with lab equipment like logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• Able to read schematics and collaborate with hardware teams.
• Good communication skills, US citizenship, and travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Own the architecture, design, and implementation of FPGA based digital systems.
• Develop RTL in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL for control, data processing, and comms.
• Integrate and deploy designs on FPGA and FPGA SoC platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers across fields on high-speed DSP and waveform processing for satellite comms.
• Develop timing constraints, analyze results, and close timing.
• Support bring-up, integration, and debug in lab with instruments.
• Lead system level trade studies, FPGA utilization reviews, and code reviews.
• Maintain FPGA code revision history and documentation.
• Improve FPGA design standards, workflows, and dev practices.
• Work autonomously to solve well-defined problems.
