Job summary

Curtiss-Wright TTC in Newtown, PA seeks a Senior FPGA Development Engineer to lead FPGA firmware design for ruggedized embedded systems, aligning with aerospace and defense requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in hardware/FPGA design, Verilog/VHDL, and the ability to mentor engineers while collaborating with systems and software teams.

Candidates must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain/maintain DoD clearance; competitive compensation and benefits available.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design and development, with expertise in FPGA digital hardware design.
  • Experience with all stages of FPGA development including requirements management, architecture, design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and validation in hardware.
  • FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL.
  • Deep understanding of architecting FPGA designs and tradeoffs in high reliability design environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of complex design challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with embedded software and hardware engineers.
  • Sole US citizen able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of FPGA firmware.
  • Oversee and contribute to FPGA design activities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership with systems engineers to define FPGA-based hardware architectures and system-level solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust products optimizing for the best design solution.
  • Drive creation of technical documentation related to FPGA development, including flow charts and design specs.
