Job summary

Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental, based in Rockford, IL, is seeking a Financial Planning and Project Accounting Manager to lead our project accounting and financial analysis function. You will drive budgeting, forecasting and profitability reporting, partnering with project managers and operational leaders to translate data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in project accounting, financial planning and analysis with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in architecture, engineering or construction (AEC) or professional services preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar systems.
• Knowledge of project accounting processes including revenue recognition, WIP and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting, profitability reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Develop and mentor the project accounting and financial analysis team.
• Partner with project managers and leaders to interpret results and decide next steps.
• Build budgets, forecasts and dashboards for leadership reporting.
• Recommend improvements to financial planning, data quality and processes.
• Flag risks and forecast concerns to CFO and ensure clean handoffs with general accounting.
