Fehr Graham's Schaumburg, IL office is seeking a Financial Planning and Project Accounting Manager to lead the project accounting and financial analysis team, strengthen planning and forecasting, and help project managers understand what the numbers mean for their work.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on improving reporting, delivering financial insight for decision making, and developing tools that drive project profitability and business performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in project accounting/FP&A with leadership.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction or professional services.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and Power BI.
• Knowledge of project accounting processes, including revenue recognition and backlog.
• Ability to balance recurring reporting with ad hoc analysis.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations.

Responsabilités

• Lead project accounting, project profitability reporting, budgeting and forecasting, dashboards, KPIs and analytics.
• Lead and develop the project accounting and financial analysis team, including assignments and feedback.
• Partner with project managers to understand results and determine next steps.
• Build and improve budgets, forecasts, profitability models, dashboards and leadership reporting.
• Recommend improvements to financial planning, data quality, reporting and processes.
• Make decisions about analytical methods, reporting approaches, and routine process improvements within controls.
• Flag significant financial risks, forecast concerns, control issues and project performance concerns to the CFO.
• Work with Controller to keep project accounting and general accounting handoffs clear.
