Job summary

Fehr Graham is seeking a Financial Planning and Project Accounting Manager to lead our project accounting and financial analysis team in Freeport, IL. You’ll translate project data into actionable insights that improve profitability, forecasting, and decision-making for project managers and leaders.

You will supervise and develop the team, refine reporting tools, and collaborate with the CFO to ensure accurate budgeting, reporting, and financial controls across our professional services projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in project accounting, financial planning/analysis, with leadership experience.
• Experience in a project-based environment (AEC, professional services, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint, Power BI or comparable systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting, profitability reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Direct the project accounting and financial analysis team and mentor staff.
• Partner with project managers to interpret results and guide decisions.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, profitability models, dashboards and reports for leadership.
• Recommend improvements to financial planning, data quality, and processes.
• Make decisions on analytical methods, reporting approaches, and routine improvements within controls.
• Flag risks and forecast concerns to CFO and ensure clear handoffs with general accounting.
