Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast-paced, high-performance finance team. Based in the Chicago area with a hybrid schedule, you will own transportation FP&A analyses, model scenarios, and report to senior management.

You will collaborate across the business to build forecasts, prepare the annual plan, and deliver investor-ready presentations. A background in financial modeling, 3–5 years FP&A, and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years FP&A or related experience.
• Hybrid schedule in Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI, Power Query preferred.
• Ability to nurture partnerships with senior management.
• Ability to influence stakeholders with strategic thinking and action planning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly transportation initiatives and report key performance drivers and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report weekly transportation performance and outlook on shipping costs and margins.
• Manage Transportation team relationships to build bottom-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of models for new transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with Transportation to build plans/targets and translate into budget.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for investors and board, highlighting metrics and budget variances.
• Provide analysis of key operational metrics and margin analysis, and communicate findings to partners.
• Apply financial concepts to develop and improve models and procedures.
• Propose solutions to business needs and optimize investments behind key strategies.
• Network with stakeholders to understand objectives and help achieve them.
