Job summary

ShipBob is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its fast-paced Transportation FP&A team on a hybrid schedule at the Chicago headquarters. You will own monthly transportation analyses, communicate drivers and variances to senior management, and partner with teams to forecast ship costs and margins.

The role requires a Bachelor's in business/finance, about 3–5 years FP&A experience, strong financial modeling, and proficiency with Excel, NetSuite, SQL, Power BI, and Power Query.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A or related experience.
• Hybrid schedule in Chicago office or similar.
• Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI and Power Query.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Transportation.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support the development and implementation of models for new transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with the Transportation team and convert to the financial budget.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board.
• Provide study of key operational metrics, develop margin analysis, and share findings with partners.
• Develop models and processes to improve financial planning and tracking.
• Provide proactive solutions to business needs and influence stakeholders.
