Job summary

GSD Search is partnering with a Property & Casualty insurer to place a Senior FP&A Analyst who will drive financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for insurance operations. The role collaborates with CFO, Accounting, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams to build plans, evaluate profitability, and provide actionable insights.

You will model financials, analyze earned premiums, losses, and expenses, and assess program profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant finance experience in P&C insurance preferred.
• Strong financial planning and analysis experience including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, Accounting, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual financial plans and quarterly forecasts with Accounting, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams.
• Prepare monthly P&L analyses by insurance program against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze key financial drivers such as earned premiums and claims/losses.
• Investigate variances and present findings to CFO and senior leadership.
• Evaluate new business strain and payback periods based on production forecasts.
• Prepare monthly financial scorecards highlighting profitability and performance.
• Monitor MGA expenses to ensure contractual compliance.
