Job summary

GSD Search, LLC is partnering with a leading Property & Casualty insurer to fill a Senior FP&A Analyst role. You will support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across insurance programs, collaborating with CFO, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams to drive profitability.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in FP&A within P&C, strong Excel and modeling skills, and experience presenting to executive leadership. This is a remote US-based, 12+ month contract opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in P&C insurance.
• Strong FP&A experience including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to senior leadership.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, Accounting, Underwriting, and Actuarial.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual financial plans and quarterly forecasts with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare monthly P&L analyses by insurance program, comparing actuals to budgets.
• Analyze key drivers: earned premiums, claims/losses, expenses, and new business strain.
• Investigate variances and present findings to CFO and senior leaders.
• Evaluate new business strain and payback periods using production forecasts.
• Create monthly financial scorecards on program profitability and performance.
• Monitor MGA-related expenses to ensure contract compliance.
• Support reporting materials for Board of Directors and AM Best.
