Job summary

Databricks is hiring a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) for the Public Sector. You will own architecture and lead end-to-end data/AI solutions on the Databricks platform, delivering production-grade systems and reference architectures while embedding with customer teams to maximize impact.

The role requires strong data engineering, Spark expertise, and experience delivering enterprise-grade deployments. Travel to customers ~20% and certification are valued assets.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering or software development.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience with technical project delivery, managing scope and timelines.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel to customers ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solutions by delivering end-to-end architectures and data pipelines.
• Drive transformational big data projects end-to-end (design, build, deploy).
• Guide customers on architecture and design to ensure adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring security, scalability, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to accelerate issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for scale.
